The Green Bin program will help the City to extend the life of its landfills by diverting up to 45 per cent of residential waste. For the program to succeed, residents need to participate by separating organic waste and setting it out at the curb for collection.

The City of Ottawa chose one of the newest green bin designs from industry leader Norseman for its organic recycling program.
